Belgrade, Serbia
Sarah’s making it to Belgrade today from Italy! I killed time in the morning walking round town before going to the railway station to meet up with her.
Once she’s all settled in, we went to check out Nikola Tesla’s museum. The only thing I knew about Tesla was the fancy electric thingy majiggy that he did. However, I learnt now that he’s basically the inventor of the Internet (the idea of transfering data wirelessly). Unfortunately, the Internet base that he wanted to build in Long Island was cancelled because his sponsor couldn’t monetize the project. In any case, Tesla is my new hero :]
In Belgrade’s Kalemegdan park, Sarah and I had a blast climbing onto tanks, cannons, torpedos and whatnot. It was surprising that nobody tried to stop us or that we didn’t end up being locked up in Serbia and made it into the show “Locked Up Abroad.”
Also on the park during the evening was an electronic-jazz + traditional-serbo music performance. While it was “interesting,” I have to say, it’s quite a horrid combination. One wouldn’t really know to dance to it unless he/she is spastic. You can proof me wrong:
