Day 80: Around the World in 80 Days (Not!)

Budapest, Hungary – Belgrade, Serbia

Caught the early morning train heading to Belgrade. The train ride was much nicer than the one from Zagreb to Budapest. There’s air conditioning and the view was awesome.

I sat across from two British kids who entertained me by telling me crazy stories like the one where they bumped into gun smuggler on the train ride from Bulgaria to Turkey. So now the story is mine to tell as well :]

When I got into Belgrade and checked in my hostel. I texted Milutin, a graphic designer from Couchsurfing. He stopped by the hostel after his work  around 8pm and walked me around all the important sites in Belgrade and gave me a crash course on Serbian history and culture. This was extremely helpful for me as I had done close to no research on Belgrade and what to do there. Later on, we met up with his girlfriend, Nema, and had a nice chat in a cafe.
