Day 459: Curioser Curioser

Prague – Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Along my trip around the world, throughout different occasions, at least four persons had told me that if I visit Czech Republic, I have to go to Cesky Krumlov. When asked the reason, they never had anything particular to point out, only that it’s a great place to be with a great atmosphere.

So here I was, in Cesky Krumlov. It was 4pm and was already getting dark when I reached town on a bus. The town was pretty dead. From what I could tell from brochures and what people had told me, it was booming with backpackers and outdoor activities (rafting, hiking, etc) to do during summer.

With the little daylight time left, I hurried to check out the main attraction in town: the palace museum and tower. Cesky Krumlov is indeed pretty. It’s the picture-perfect medieval town.

The palace museum houses many royal family’s collections and some oddities:

The palace tower is a good lookout point for the entire town.
