Peru: Nazca

Nazca Lines

• Two ways to observed the lines: via aircarft or via “Mirador” (viewpoint)
• Aircraft tour costs around 200 soles ($75) and allows you to see more of the lines and figures
• Mirador tour costs around 30 soles ($11) and allows you to see 2 line figures
• Cheapo option is to take local buses “Perubus” or “Soyuz” that head towards Ica or Lima and tell them that you want to be dropped off at Mirador
• Both cost 2 soles ($0.75) one way and run every 20 min
• Fee to get up the Mirador is 2 soles ($0.75)
• To get back to Nazca, flag down any buses that head that direction. Should cost 2 soles ($0.75) as well

 Total expense = 6 soles ($2.25)

Chauchilla Cemetery

• Tour packages run for about 40 soles ($15) per person
• Cheapo option is to take local taxi if you have more than 2 persons
• Flag down taxis on the streets and bargain hard
• Get the price down to at least 50 soles per cab for the roundtrip
• Ask to make a quick stop at an artisan workshop to get a free tour of and lecture on Nazcan potteries

Total expense = 25 soles ($9.25) for a party of two; or 16.5 soles ($6.25) for a party of three
