Day 351: RaceaЯ

Macau – Zhuhai – Xinhui, China

Racing Museum and Wine Museum in Macau (Free admission)
Racing Museum: Display of racing cars and motorbikes. Stories about F1 racing in Macau. During the racing sports, a lot of tourists come to Macau. You have to buy ticket to see the racing. The organizers set up walls alongside the tracks to prevent others taking photos of the race.

Wine Museum: a lot of different wines from all over the world accompanied by blurbs about the culture. There’s also wine tasting.

Portuguese Restaurant at Macau
The design interior of restaurant is attractive with pictures on the wall. So colorful. Ordered salad, spaghetti, and a fish dish. So yummy!

“Dragon of Fortune” and “Tree of Prosperity” at Wynn Macau
Unfortunately, the “Dragon of Fortune” and “Tree of Prosperity” piece that we wanted to see at the Wynn casino was under maintenance. Even we couldn’t see the piece in action, the carvings alone are quite something. Here’s Youtube videos of the shows:

On the way to China
We took the bus shuttle from Star World Hotel to GongPei Port. Since it’s weekend,  we were stuck in a long line at the immigration to enter mainland China’s bordering city, Zhuhai 珠海市.

We then took a 2-hour bus ride from Zhu Hai City to Xinhui. The ticket was RMB 50.
In Xinhui, we stayed with our generous and kind host, Wai Long, from Couchsurfing. Wai Long cooked us chicken and vegetables for dinner. We were totally impressed by his cooking skill :]
