Day 218: Ice Ice Baby

A couple of days ago, I’d never heard of the word “crampons.” But today I found out that cramponing is a lot of fun! Honestly, I was dreading the glacier trekking excursion a bit. I was questioning whether I had been overly self-confident going for the full on 4-hour trek instead of the 2-hour one. I had been warned by people who had done it and my last day trek in Torres del Paine nearly killed me.

However, the trek turned out to be much pleasant than I had imagined and it wasn’t at all difficult walking on ice with crampons. In fact, I felt really safe and secure with them on. To get to the Perito Moreno glacier, we had an uphill hike for 45 minutes. This, I found more exhausting.
