Day 190: Pimped Up Kicks

Cusco – Lima, Peru

Cusco’s such a charming little town. It’s even more so because of the fact that it has these pimped-out converse-look-alike shoes in the artisan stores. I was having such a hard time deciding which color and styles to go for. The high tops are sick looking but I really couldn’t justify buying them: too cumbersome to fit in my backpack.

I wish Peru was one of the last stops in my trip. Would have gone back to NYC with a bunch of these eye candies. For $13 a pop, it’s a damn good deal.

Anyway, I spent my day with Jessica, a Canadian photographer. She introduced me to the extreme sport tiny video camera called GoPro. It shoots in HD and wide-angle. The brand also offers a bunch of accessories that let you attach the camera to any gears you can think of. May have to get myself this one of these days. Seems like a lot of fun to have.

I left Cusco for Lima at 5pm. The bus ride would take 22 hours in total. I had been mentally preparing myself for it for days. Jessica, on the other hand, would fly from Cusco to Lima and it would only take her an hour or so. The difference of $180.

These shoes are pretty much everywhere in Cusco town center. Lima has it too in department stores, with 4 times the price.
