Budapest, Hungary
I was looking forward to visit House of Terror today but apparently it’s closed on Monday The museum houses exhibits related to the Fascist and Communist regimes in Hungary during the 20th century. It was the base of the secret police and was a torture house.
Kitti saved the day and came to bring me to Margit’s Island. We did pretty much everything from having junk food, walking through the floral park to petting zoo animals.
But my highlight of the day was visiting Kitti’s home, meeting her mom and brother, and having Mama Horvath’s home-cooking!
After the dinner at her place, Kitti even went as far as offering to send me back to my hostel, in fear of my getting lost. We made a stop at a patisserie called Gerbeaud. It was listed on my guidebook and I recalled seeing it mentioned in a travel documentary. It was some sort of the hang out place of 19th century Hungarian’s high society.
Thus ended my trip in Hungary. Kitti had made my stay extra special
