Day 45: For Tomorrow

Last day of being in my twenties! I thought I’d take a picture of myself before I became “old.” Hehe. I’m pretty much the colour of oompa-loompas from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Guess that’s what a month of sun would do to one.

I went into the water with Tom and Storm today. Tom was teaching us the 20 in water skills that a Divemaster should be able to perform, in a demonstration quality, in order to pass the Divemaster final test. These skills are tough! I had trouble performing them in general, let alone, to a demonstration quality. I was doing the “Regulator Recovery” in which I had to take out my regulator, blow out slow bubbles, and then in a slow, exaggerated movement, demonstrate to others how to perform the skill. Midway during my demonstration, I realized I ran out of air to blow out bubbles and had to hurry and just put the regulator in my mouth :\ Second attempt was better, but still nowhere close to perfect.

And oh, I surprised myself today by pulling off 3 push-ups. Never in life I had been able to do even one. I was telling Storm that and then went on trying to show him what I meant by not having enough upper body strength to do it. I went down and next thing I knew I was doing push-ups! YAY! I believed all the tank-carrying paid off

Next goal should be the abs, I suppose. Andy had been ranting about “Spartan workout” the first day I met him. He and Bobby have serious obsession with everything Spartan, be it Spartacus, Spartan workout, the movie 300 etc.
