I’m not sure if it’s the heat or we’re simply having enough of Morocco in general. It might have been the latter. There were …

Day 139: Who the Hell is Ryan?
Marrakesh, Morocco – Beauvais, France
Hoorah! We’re flying back out to Europe today.
Storm and I spent the whole morning putting our haggling techniques to use. We got some mad haggle-tekkers now. I managed to get the vendors to argue amongst themselves, and ended up with three wool hats for 55 dirhams (7 bucks). The original price that the first vendor gave us was 150 dirhams for one. Ha!
Anyway, we flew out of Morocco to France using cheap budget airline called Ryan Air. We’re so jealous of Europeans; of the fact that they have cheap airlines that can fly them all sort of places. If booked a couple of months in advance, one can even get flight ticket for as cheap as 9 euros.
Our tickets weren’t as cheap as we booked them only 3 weeks beforehand. Furthermore, Ryan Air charges for everything, and by everything I mean, everything (ie. luggage fee, credit card payment fee, meal on board etc.) Another funny thing with flying on Ryan Air is that one doesn’t get an assigned seat. We were a bit weirded out that during the boarding time, everybody fought to get to the line. We found out later the reason later: to obtain good seats.
We flew out off Marrakesh at 4pm and by 11pm, we’re in Beauvais, France. It turned out that Beauvais airport is not exactly in Paris (it’s more than an hour away). Also, originally, Storm and I planned to just sleep in the airport and head to Paris the next day. However, we found out that the airport closed at 11:30pm and it was raining that night. So, we somehow managed to get ourselves a bus ride to a cheap hotel/hostel in the town of Beauvais. The place has a weird feel to it. It has a futuristic-retro modular design. I would definitely call our room a “pod” instead of a room.
