Day 21: Hang Me Up to Dry
Vela Luka, Croatia
What a disastrous day! I had to do my Rescue Diver in water scenario test today and although I passed, it was in the most unflattering way
Tom taught me the first part of the course yesterday and then this morning, Sam, another instructor had to take over. The practice exercises with Sam went pretty smoothly. I was pretty comfortable and sure that I got it all down. Then came the scenario tests in the afternoon and I had to do it with Tom. Not knowing what to expect, I screwed up in some of the scenario. At one point, I brought Sean, who was acting as the unconscious diver underwater, way too too fast to the surface from under 9 meter. This is a real bad thing since we could have both gotten decompression sickness and it’s no laughing matter
Anyway, I guess practice makes perfect. I’ll still be here for more than 2 months, I’m sure I’ll get to hone my skills.
Bad news for you lot back home: Today was another shitty weather day, so I have another shitty photo for you.
Croatian phrase of the day:
Vrijeme je lose = The weather is bad
