Day 329: This Lil’ Piggy Went to the Market

Seoul, Korea

I was glad I visited the free National Art Gallery in Seoul. It’s very comprehensive in terms of Korean history. Definitely learnt a great deal as I knew close to nothing about Korea.

However, the most marvelous piece I saw there was an installation project by a Korean artist Lee Nam Lee. His works use the old masterpieces and breath new lives into them. More about Lee Nam from this Youtube video:

In the evening, I went to the Gwangjang traditional food market with a fellow traveler from the hostel, Jonas. Being a Dane, Jonas is surprisingly a good sport when it comes to trying out weird and spicy Asian food. We shared a spicy beef dish and pig’s feet. Yay for the spicy beef dish, nay for the pig’s feet. The pig’s feet is slightly tasteless. Gwangjang was super fun.

After the meal, we went roaming around the streets in the neighbourhood.
