Day 229: A Little Letting Go

Buenos Aires – Mendoza, Argentina

I first met Magui in our Colca Canyon trip in Peru. A native Buenos Aires-ian, Magui is cool, easygoing and share similar interests. Since it’s my last day in town, we agreed to grab lunch together. Magui decided to invite me over to her apartment and cook us hearty vegetarian meal.

I wasn’t sure why I had in mind to go to a hairdresser before I leave South America. Probably the fact that next haircut I’ll be able to afford won’t be until almost May when I get to Indonesia. Everything’s supposedly expensive in Australia and New Zealand.

After a bit of googling the day before, I had discovered this wicked hipsters/rocknroll/indie saloon called Roho in Palermo district. They have awesome website: good visuals and good music.

I told Magui about this place and it so turned out that she had heard of it and had been wanting to go. So after lunch, we headed straight there.

The interior of Roho felt more like a night club more than a saloon. It’s decorated in retro futuristic design. The two of us ended up to have our hairdresser just cut our hair whatever style struck his fancy. Magui was very content with her result. Mine was alright.

By night time, I was again on a bus leaving Buenos Aires towards Mendoza. It’s a 13-hour ride and this time around, I made sure I got the “Cama” (bed) class. Sort of like the business class on an airplane. It was the right choice. Check this out: wi-fi, snack, dinner, bingo, movie, pillow, blanket, and breakfast.
