Day 205: Ladies of the Flower

Santiago – Puerto Montt, Chile

My bus to Puerto Montt wasn’t going to be until late in the afternoon. Technically I had time to go round town during the day. However, the thought of carrying my giant backpack around deterred me. I chose to just hang out at Eddie’s sleeping in and watching Boardwalk Empire!

The bus took 13 hours to get to Puerto Montt. Like most buses in South America, it’s divided into 1st (cama) and 2nd (semi-cama) class. Normally I wouldn’t mind paying extra for the nicer seat especially for a long night ride. But this trip for the 1st class is $20 more, a 50% extra of the 2nd class. I’m broke so I toughed it out on the semi-cama seat. It wasn’t that bad actually. I suppose after the shitty buses in Morocco, I could take on any buses.
