Day 85: In Love with the View

Sarajevo – Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina

The plan was to only stop by Mostar for a half day and continue to Split, Croatia. But we heard loads of good things about Mostar. Our expectation was high and Mostar didn’t disappoint. As soon as we were brought to our hostel, Majda’s Hostel, we fell in love with the view and the hospitality. Majda’s family: brother Bata and their “Mama” made us feel at home. The other guests must have felt the same as us so it was easy to chat with them. Everybody is in super relax mode.

Albeit small, Mostar is oozing with character. The famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) over Neretva river can be viewed from pretty much all angles and all of them were cool. Sarah and I went up Mostar’s main mosque and its minaret. From up there, we could see the entire city. The steps going up the minaret seemed to never end. Definitely not recommended for the claustrophobics . But hey, the view will pay off!
